The most dreadful season is the winter season from November to February when temperature goes well below freezing point with regular snowfalls, mild rainfalls and chilling cold breeze.

The distance of Srinagar airport is 14km from the city. There are regular flights from Srinagar to prominent places like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore of the country. However the international travelers can access Mumbai or Delhi airport for many destinations abroad.

The nearest railway station to Kashmir valley is Jammu Tawi. The particular station has many trains travelling from different metropolitan cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata. However there is always tourist rush in the holiday seasons which are usually covered by extra trains at that particular time span.
Kashmir By Road
Jammu and Kashmir State transport Corporation has many buses that run along Kashmir and other neighboring places. There is also much availability of private and deluxe AC buses which operates from nearby states and travels to Kashmir at much lesser and reasonable rates.
