Akshay Kumar was born on 9 September 1967 in Amritsar, Punjab, India. His father name Late Hari Om Bhatia was a army officer and his mother named Aruna Bhatia. He did his schooling from Don Bosco High School, Darjeeling. After schooling, he enrolled in Guru Nanak Khalsa College for higher education, but dropped out as he was not much interested in studies and went to Bangkok to learn martial arts where he worked as a chef and waiter and learned Muay Thai.
